Betmar Sunhat, c. 1940s-1960s. White colored wide brimmed hat is comprised of a woven straw-like material that has a slight sheen. Crown has straight sides and a rounded top that is slightly creased. A white satin ribbon forms a band around crown at brim and ends in a large bow at the proper right side of hat. There is a metal latch on the top front for easy open and close and more red leather on the bottom to act as a type of hinge for when purse is open. The leather that can be seen is discolored and fraying from age and use.
