I. Magnin & Co. Wide-brimmed Hat, c. 1940s-1960s. White sunhat (?) is comprised of a linen-weave polyester. Round crown is flat on top with straight 4" sides. Brim comes out at an angle from crown and has two layers of fabric that have been stitched in concentric circles to keep firm. A 2" white ribbon forms a band just above brim ending in an upside-down V-shape at front of hat. A taupe or light brown-colored ribbon is sewn to interior where brim meets crown. |

Mary Ann Magnin and Isaac Magnin opened their first store in 1876. The business would expand to have locations in Union Square, San Francisco and San Mateo.
