    Hand Towel, c. 1920. Rectangular white colored hand towel. The long sides (height wise) are selvage edges and the shorter side (width wise) are scalloped embroidery. The pattern consists of small subtle 1in. x 1in. roses. Going vertically along the height there are 7 columns of roses every other row is staggered so the roses don't line up to form rows. Embroidered 2in x 1.5in "S" in bottom center.

The long sides (height wise) are selvage edges and the shorter sides on the top and bottom have a border consisting of 4 straight woven lines 1 inch in from the fabrics edge. There is no pattern on the fabric. The short edges are commercially woven it looks like a sewing machine was used. On the back there is a loop tag that says "CANNON" which extends 0.625in. from the fabric.
