Description |
Hand Towel, c. 1920. Rectangular off-white colored hand towel. The long sides (height wise) are selvage edges and the shorter side on the top and bottom has 1 inch heather blue edges there is 1/16 inches of hemstitching separating the blue edges and the off white fabric. The pattern is a floral motif 3 to 4 inches wide all the way around the edges of the white fabric. The floral motif also forms a loop in the bottom half of the towel extending 9.5 inches towards the center. |

Brought from New York State about 1930s by donor's friend, a lady in her 90s. All items in this donation were over 100 years old when donated (1973) with the exception of the finger towels which were about 50 years old. |
