Description |
Victorian Gold Floral Purse, c. 1870-1905. Rounded purse made of a gold, pink, and blue printed floral fabric, gathered into pleats at the top and lying nearly flat toward the bottom. Frame around opening is made of gold metal with an abstract stamped design and five raised, round blue glass (?) stones at the top. Purse is fastened by a small clasp on one side of this frame; hanging down in front of this clasp is a gold teardrop-shaped piece of metal with another blue glass stone. Handle is a short, narrow gold chain. Interior is lined in off-white satin and has a small pocket on each side. Printed in gold on one of these pockets is "Mrs. A Jeddis". |
