    Stoneworking 9-Point, c. 1920-1925. Silver-colored metal tool used to smooth the surface of a piece of granite, powered by an air hammer. Tool would be used earlier in the process of working the stone after it had been shaped. Tool has a cylindrical shaft which becomes a wider squared shaft at the halfway point, and is split at the bottom into 9 points arranged in a 3 x 3 grid. The points are blunted from use.

    Stoneworking Smoothing Tool, c. 1920-1925. Wood-handled metal tool for smoothing stone by hand. Tapered wood handle is fitted into a large metal head. The head is made of 10 bundled rectangular sheets of silver-colored metal that are each tapered at each end - these are held together by two smaller rectangles of the same metal with two arms connecting them on the top and bottom of the head and tightened with four pairs of nuts and bolts.

    Stoneworking Smoothing Tool, c. 1920-1925. Silver-colored metal tool for smoothing the surface of granite, powered by an air hammer. Shaft of tool is in three parts. The top 2.5" is cylindrical, then middle 5" are squared, and the bottom 4" or so until the head are rectangular. The head widens to a wedge, with the end cut with three channels to make 4 prongs. The prongs are worn and rounded due to use.
