48-star U.S. Flag, c. 1926-1949. Flag is made of strips of fabric (silk?) that are sewn together to create a striped pattern with red stripes on bottom and top edges. Upper left corner has blue section with 48 white stars embroidered on it. There is gold fringe along all but the left edge. The left edge is doubled over and reinforced by an inner layer of white fabric (cotton?). There is a leather tab on upper left corner.
