Description |
Sketch by Alvin Page Colby, c. 1917-1919. Pencil on off-white paper sketch depicts a man standing beside a radio. The radio is on the left side of the page and sits on an elegantly carved wooden table. It blares the first line of the US national anthem in a tumble of music notes. The soldier holds a book in one hand and hurriedly salutes with the other, dropping his pipe in the process. He wears glasses and has a mustache. |
