Ed Montague Sports Hall of Fame Plaque. Plaque commemorating Ed Montague of Westmoor High School being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 14, 2011. Plaque includes image of Montague and a brief biography: "He may have had a relatively undistinguished baseball playing career at Westmoor, but as a professional baseball umpire, Ed Montague had few peers. After working his way up the officiating ladder through the minor leagues, he spent 34 years umpiring in the majors. His last campaign was in 2009. During that lengthy span, he umpired 4,369 games (ninth on baseball's all-time list). His sterling resume includes four All-Star Games, eight League Championship Series and six World Series." |
