Plaque commemorating Peter V. Ueberroth of Burlingame High School being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on July 23, 2015. The plaque is silver acrylic mounted with golden screws onto a dark wooden base. Plaque includes image of Ueberroth wearing a dark blue suit coat with a light blue shirt underneath. His arms are folded, he is wearing a wristwatch and is facing the camera. A brief biography is also on the front, "It is safe to state that no one from the Peninsula has a stronger resume in sports / administration than Peter Ueberroth. His body of work is staggering. A former swimmer / and water polo player, he grew up in Burlingame, attended Burlingame High School / and wound up graduating from Fremont High School. At San Jose State, Peter led / the Spartan water polo team in goals in 1958. A prominent businessman, he was / tasked with directing and managing the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Peter / then became Commissioner of Major League Baseball and performed that job for five / years. He was Chairman of the U.S. Olympic Committee from 2004 to 2008. He was / named Man of the Year by Time magazine in 1984." The front of the plaque also has the Sports Hall of Fame logo as well as sponsoring information. The back of the plaque has an oval sticker with the logo and contact information for Spotlight Impressions, the manufacturer of the plaque. |

He was recently the chairman of the United States Olympic Committee; he was replaced by Larry Probst in October 2008."
