Plaque commemorating Barry Bonds of Serra High School being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on May 19, 1992. Plaque includes image of Bonds and a brief biography: "Barry Bonds is one of the finest baseball players in Serra High School and San Mateo County history. Bonds, who played football and basketball, hit 22 home runs during his prep career and carried a .405 batting average. In three years at Arizona State University, Bonds hit .347 with 45 home runs and 175 RBIs. He was named to the all-Pac-10 team all three seasons. As a sophomore, he had seven straight hits in the college World Series. With the major league Pittsburgh Pirates, he was the National League's most valuable player in 1990 when he hit .301 with 33 homers, 114 RBIs 104 runs scored and 52 stolen bases." |
