Description |
Adriance Platt sulky two-horse sickle-bar Mower, 1892. Used for mowing fields of grain. Once mown, grains are left flat and scattered. Horse tree is wood painted a light yellow with unfinished wooden pieces mounted below it. Silver colored spiked blade extends out the right side and has two stained wooden handles mounted to end with green metal. Center of mower is painted red with green and silver painted iron mechanisms for adjusting mower. Out back center is an iron seat, painted green, affixed to mower by silver painted flat metal bars. In either side of seat are two large solid-iron spoked wheels painted light yellow inside and black on the outside. Wheel's "tires" are textured with horizontal and vertical embossed tread. |
