Japanese Rice Boxes, c. 1930-1970. Two sets of rice boxes (A & B and C & D) which include wooden frames (A & C) and scalloped inserts (B & D). Used for molding multiple individual sushi at once. Small box (A) has dove-tail corners attached with pegs while large box (C) has notched ends along long side into which short side pieces are secured with metal nails. |
