Japanese Rice Container with Lid, c. 1930-1970. Wooden barrel-style bowl (B.1) has a flat round bottom and slightly curved vertical wooden side slats are secured by two brass bands. Lid (B.2) is a flat circle with two horizontal rectangular strips of wood attached to the top forming handles. Lid rests loosely atop bowl. |
