Description |
Wood and acrylic plaque commemorating Al Terremere of Sequoia High School who was inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 22, 2004. Plaque includes image of Terremere and a brief biography: "It would not be a hyperbole to state that few men had more influence on Sequoia High School's athletic program in the first half of the 20th century than Al Terremere. A distinguished athlete at the school in the early 1920s, he became an All-American football player at Santa Clara University. He returned to Sequoia as a teacher and coach in 1931. He wound up running the school's football, baseball, and boxing programs. Sequoia's football stadium was designated as Terremere Field in 1950." |
