Saunders Bros. Lumber Mill, Tunitas Gulch, 1884. A team of ten oxen drag a redwood log down a road that passes in front of a large wooden building. A grove of pine trees and several other buildings appear in the background. A note with the photograph identifies the three men as (left to right): Ed Fisher, Redwood City Druggist; John Kelly of Woodside; Charles Townsend, driver. It also identifies the oxen pairs (front to back, left to right): Duke and Buck; Spot and Bully; Tige and Berry; Spark and Bright; Blue and Bob. The identification was furnished by George W. McNulty on January 18, 1941. |
