    Chinese Shoulder Yoke. Yoke made of medium- to dark-colored unfinished wood. Yoke is flat on the front and back and the top and bottom sides are curved like a very elongated football, widest in the center and tapering to points at the ends. At each end is a hole drilled through the wood, to attach loads. In the center at the bottom is a half-circle cutout, to fit around the back of the user's neck.
