    Rag Throw Rug, c. 1870. Cotton rag throw rug is comprised of several rows of three each cotton strips twisted together. Rows are sewn together with thread. Fabric is mostly light tan with some strips containing blue, red, gray or brown. At each end are sixteen tufts comprised of tied thread left over from sewing the rows of fabric together. Probably hand made.
