"Peter Victor Ueberroth (born September 2, 1937) is an American executive. He served as the sixth Commissioner of Baseball from 1984 to 1989. He was recently the chairman of the United States Olympic Committee; he was replaced by Larry Probst in October 2008." His body of work is staggering. A former swimmer and water polo player, he grew up in Burlingame, attended Burlingame High School and wound up graduating from Fremont High School. At San Jose State, Peter led the Spartan water polo team in goals in 1958. A prominent businessman, he was tasked with directing and managing the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Peter then became Commissioner of Major League Baseball and performed that job for five years. He was Chairman of the U.S. Olympic Committee from 2004 to 2008.
