Notes |
"For Doc Scheppler, basketball coaching isn't just a profession, it's a calling. It's been that way for nearly 40 years. A standout player himself at Burlingame and Cañada College, he pursued a coaching career beginning in the late 1970s. He was a boys' head coach at both Capuchino and Burlingame. He moved on to coach girls at Pinewood School in Los Altos Hills in the mid-1990s. There, Doc has created one of the outstanding programs in Northern California, winning six state championships, eight NorCal titles and 13 Central Coast Section crowns. Through the 2014-15 season, his Pinewood teams have amassed 528 victories." [San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame] |
