Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival Poster, 2006. Poster print of a painting by January Hooker. Painting is in portrait orientation and depicts Pigeon Point Lighthouse, with the lighthouse itself in the upper right in front of a white, blue, and pink cloudy sky. Below and to the left of the lighthouse, the grassy land tumbles down into a rocky shore to meet the ocean. In the foreground in the bottom right is a grassy hill with clusters of pumpkins, an artist's palette, and a blue ribbon on the leftmost pumpkin. Painting is surrounded by a narrow brown border. Below it, on a white background, is printed "Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival 2002" in brown. Frame is plain and made of dark red-stained wood. On the back is a certificate of authenticity, two blue pieces of paper with information on the painting and artist, and a sticker for Arrowhead Framing. |

The Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival is an annual harvest and fundraising festival held in October. It was started in 1971 by the Half Moon Bay Beautification Committee, an organization dedicated to preserving historic Half Moon Bay sites and otherwise helping the local community. The festival's highlights include a pumpkin weigh-off, a parade, and offerings from local artists and musicians.
