Plaque commemorating Tom Martinez of College of San Mateo being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on May 18, 1993. Plaque includes image of Martinez and a brief biography: "Tom Martinez has no peer among community college coaches in California. The former Jefferson High of Daly City teacher and coach has won more than 900 ballgames at the College of San Mateo. / He has coached three sports at the two-year institution: football, women's basketball and women's softball. / Championships are the norm for the San Francisco native. His teams have captured a staggering 31 titles during his20 years at CSM. His teams also have played for nine state championships. / Martinez was a student athlete at San Francisco State University. He has been elected to that school's Hall of Fame." |
