Notes |
"The mattress tick is the simplest form of mattress. It can be used with any cot, or just spread on the ground. It is very light weight, can be rolled into the blanket roll or folded, taking up very little space in the knapsack. Its period of use spans the civil war era by quite a few years, so it is perfect for authentic camps. To use it, you simply unroll it, open the flap, and fill it with hay, straw, dry leaves, or whatever other soft warm materials are available, (some owners are reported to have hidden air mattresses in them, but that's cheating) and button the flap closed to keep the filler in. Then you place it on your cot or on the ground, with the buttons on the bottom at the foot." [https://www.regtqm.com/product-p/bla-010.htm 3/22/2017] |
