Description |
Moffett Field B-17 Jacket, 2006. Green nylon flight jacket. The material has a satin finish. Cuffs, collar, and the bottom of the jacket are made of an elastic polyester material. The jacket has two shoulder straps extending from the top of the sleeve to button near the collar. Along the waist are two pockets with snap button closures. On the front at the bottom of the jacket is a flap of fabric that folds over the bottom of the zipper and is secured with a snap button closure. On the proper right chest is a large, round patch: embroidered in the front is a gray B-17 plane with red detailing on the wings. On the proper left chest, .5 inches from the zipper is a patch sewn on three sides with an opening facing the zipper. Also on the proper left chest, is a Velcro, leather name tag with silver etched lettering and a illustration of pilots wings with a shield in the middle. In the proper right hand shoulder, is a blue round patch featuring a gold embroidered image: two circles vertically stacked, the top circle is smaller than the bottom; inside the bottom circle is a white star with a red circle in the middle. Gold wings emerge from the sides of the bottom circle and point straight up. Below the patch, is a arm pocket with a gold-colored metal circle. On top of this pocket are four pen pockets. On the back of the jacket is a large embroidered image of a gray B-17 with red detailing on the wings. The B-17 is flying in front of the two grayish clouds, the propellers are made to appear as if they are spinning. |
