Description |
Dictionary of International Biography Medal, 1974. Gold medal (A) and textured dark blue plastic box (B). Medal is circular, with a slightly raised globe map and "DICTIONARY OF INTERNATIONAL BIOGRAPHY" written in raised letters around it. On the back is written "10th COMMEMORATIVE EDITION 1974" with a dotted border around the edge. It is attached to a dark red ribbon with two vertical white stripes running down the center. At the top of this ribbon, on the back, is a C-style pin clasp. Box is lined in padded off-white satin, and has a fuzzy black base with indentations for the medal to rest in. On the top lining is a castle, crown, Tudor rose, and four-paneled coat of arms with a "ROYAL MINT" banner all embroidered in black. The box is rectangular with the corners cut off at 45* angles and slightly rounded. The outside top has a gold line border about a quarter inch from the edge. In the center is a gold globe map with "DICTIONARY OF INTERNATIONAL BIOGRAPHY MEDAL" printed below. |
