Plaque commemorating Carol Rische of Crestmoor High School being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 4, 2002. Plaque includes image of Rische and a brief biography: "Carol Rische was ahead of her time. She was a pioneer women's basketball phenomenon in the late 1970s when she dominated her youthful peers as a power forward/center at Crestmoor High School in San Bruno. Later, she did the same thing at UC-Davis. A three-time all-Mid-Peninsula League star and a two-time all-San Mateo County selection, she averaged at least 19 rebounds per game her last two years of high school. At Davis, she wound up first on the school's all-time career list with 1,028 rebounds and 1,711 points." |
