Plaque commemorating Debbie Dyson of Hillsdale High School being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on July 23, 2015. The plaque is silver acrylic mounted with golden screws onto a dark wooden base. Plaque includes headshot image of Dyson wearing a light-colored knit sweater against a blue background. A brief biography is also on the front, "In the early 1980s, Debbie Dyson came onto the San Mateo County girls' basketball / scene like a bolt out of the blue. Quick, strong and ultra-dynamic, she rapidly estab- / lished herself as one of the premier prep players on the Peninsula and in the Central / Coast Section. In one memorable high school contest, Debbie poured in a record 49 / points. During her career at Hillsdale, she became one of the school's all-time finest / female athletes and was recognized as the San Mateo County basketball player of / the year in 1984. She also shone in track and field with several records set during her / time in 100M and 200M sprints. Debbie took her considerable skills to Santa Clara / University, where her basketball achievements still dot the Broncos' record book." The back of the plaque has an oval sticker with the logo and contact information for Spotlight Impressions, the manufacturer of the plaque. |
