Thermofit Heat-Shrinkable Tubing Diameter Gauge, c. late 1950s-1971. White cardboard heat-shrinkable tubing gauge produced by the Raychem Corporation. The rectangular gauge is made from three pieces of cardboard that swivel on a metal rivet attached at the bottom right corner. Information is printed in green ink. The top two pieces of cardboard have measurements along sections that are cut out to fit various sizes of tubing. Text on the front reads, "DIAMETER GAUGE / [rayclad tubes logo] / RAYCLAD TUBES / INCORPORATED / OAKSIDE AT NORTHSIDE/REDWOOD CITY, CALIFORNIA." The bottom piece of cardboard does not have any cutouts. "THERMOFIT / the tubing with a memory" is printed at top with a chart of expanded and recovered tubing sizes below. |
