Provenance |
Belonged to Jimmy L. Dorris who retired from the San Mateo County Sheriffs Department in 1989. He was also Chief of Police in Colma from 1974 to 1979. He was also a bailiff in North County court before its closing and served as a detective in several capacities during his time there. |
Notes |
"...Whereas name tags tend to be worn on uniforms or clothing, nameplates tend to be mounted onto an object (e.g. cars, amplification devices) or physical space (e.g. doors, walls, or desktops). Nameplates are also distinct from name plaques. Plaques have larger dimensions and aim to communicate more information than a name and title." [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nameplate 11/30/2021] |
