Description |
Bamboo Chair, 1949-1951. Small children's bamboo armchair. The chair has a Bannister seat back with a curved top rail; the lower and top rail are made from a lighter color bamboo and the spindles are freckled with darker colored spots. The seat is made from bamboo slates and there is a gap between the arm rests and the seat. The legs, arm support, and stiles are a darker, freckled type of bamboo while the seat, rails, apron, stretchers, and armrests are a lighter color. There are railings on the armrest. In-between the apron and the stretchers, on the front and sides, there are sticks of bamboo crossed like an X. |
