Plaque commemorating Sara Fulp Allen of Half Moon Bay High School and Menlo College being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on July 23, 2015. The plaque is silver acrylic mounted with golden screws onto a dark wooden base. Plaque includes image of Sara Fulp-Allen crouching down wearing a blue wrestling uniform at a wrestling match. A brief biography is also on the front, "Sara Fulp Allen is part of a new breed. Female wrestlers are just now coming into / vogue and Sara, a member of a wrestling family, is part of this growing movement, / a very big part. She's one of the originals in her sport on the Peninsula. Sara set / competitive standards at Half Moon Bay, where she was a California state champion / for three straight years and a national titlist for two. Later at Menlo, she was a three- / time women's national champion. A seven-time member of the U.S. National Team, / Sara placed third in the American Olympic Trials in 2004 and 2008. A wrestling / coach in her own right, she has been a resident at the U.S. Olympic Training Center / in Colorado." The back of the plaque has an oval sticker with the logo and contact information for Spotlight Impressions, the manufacturer of the plaque. |
