Description |
Agricultural Inspector Plant Quarantine Officer Badge, c. 1919-1960. Shield-shaped badge made of golden-bronze metal, with a slightly raised border. At the top, rising above the main shield shape, is a circle with "1" stamped into it. In the center of the shield is a slightly raised banner with "SAN MATEO COUNTY" stamped into it. Above this banner in raised text is printed "AGRICULTURAL INSPECTOR" and below it is "CALIFORNIA PLANT QUARANTINE OFFICER." Badge is either intentionally colored or tarnished so the top circle, central banner, and raised text is golden, and the recessed metal around them is a duller bronze color. |
