Wood and acrylic plaque commemorating Jerry Scattini of Capuchino High School and the College of San Mateo who was inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 23, 2005. Plaque includes image of Scattini and a brief biography: "Back in the 1950's, Jerry Scattini just naturally gravitated to sports as a kid growing up in Millbrae. At Capuchino High School, he flourished. He became an integral part of what would become known as the school's "golden era" of athletics. Scattini was a standout football and baseball player. He took his skills on the gridiron to the College of San Mateo and then to UC- Berkeley where he was a major contributor. Later, he was head football coach at the University of Nevada- Reno for seven years." |
