Cotton Infant Binder, c. 1920s. Long, rectangular cotton piece with two seams, one at center and one at end. Each seam has three pieces of cotton tying ribbon. Hemstitch around edge of cloth. Piece was likely created as undergarment to wrap or bind midsection of a Vanta baby doll. Small tag on edge hem says "Vanta Binder Pat. July 7th 14." Small 'V' embroidered on small tag on hem. |
