Description |
Japanese Candy Dish, c. 1930-1970. Red and black lacquerware candy dish is globe-shaped with a half-circle bowl (D.1) with a small circular flat bottom and a half-circle lid (D.2) with no handle. Interior of both lid and bowl are red while exterior is black. Bowl is decorated with one red and one off-white flower with gold stamen on sides. Lid has three matching red flowers and two matching off-white flowers. Bowl has a recessed rim inside over which lid fits snugly. Used for holding Japanese candy. |
