Description |
Japanese Candy Dish, c. 1930-1970. Red lacquerware candy dish has a squat round bowl (B.1) with an almost flat, gently tapered round lid (B.2) that has a knob handle. Lid has a recessed rim inside to fit loosely into bowl. Top of lid is decorated with a painted gold and silver bearded mask and a fan while top of knob is painted solid gold. Interior of bowl and underside of lid are both black. Used for holding Japanese candy. |
