Plaque commemorating Walt Harris of El Camino High School being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 5, 2001. Plaque includes image of Harris and a brief biography: "Walt Harris is one of the most respected college football coaches in the U.S. An alum of El Camino High School in South San Francisco and College of San Mateo, he is now head coach at the University of Pittsburg. In 1997, he was named Big East Conference Coach of the Year. His 2000 Pitt team recorded a 7-4 record, the school's best mark in 11 seasons. He is a former head coach at the University of the Pacific. As a linebacker at CSM, he was named Player of the Year in the Golden Gate Conference." |
