Description |
San Mateo County Sheriff Shoulder Patch, c. 1979-1989. Patch was part of Jimmy L. Dorris' uniform; he served with the Sheriff's department from approximately 1979-1989. Cloth patch is shield-shaped with a rounded top and pointed bottom, filled with solid black embroidery and has red thread serging along the outer edge. "SHERIFF" is embroidered in gold at the top. Beneath that is an embroidered a gold star-shaped sheriff's badge with a redwood tree in the center surrounded by two circles with "SAN MATEO / COUNTY" embroidered in red between them. |

Belonged to Jimmy L. Dorris who retired from the San Mateo County Sheriffs Department in 1989. He was also Chief of Police in Colma from 1974 to 1979. He was also a bailiff in North County court before its closing and served as a detective in several capacities during his time there. |
