Paul Noce Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame Plaque. Plaque commemorating Paul Noce of Sequoia High School being inducted into Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame, sponsored by The San Mateo County/ Silicon Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau, on June 13, 2012. Plaque includes image of Noce and a brief biography: "A member of a Peninsula baseball family, he got his athletic career started at Sequioa where he starred in both baseball and football. He continued his exploits on the diamond at Washington State University. He was a first-team shortstop on the 1981 All-Pac 10 team. Drafted and signed by San Diego of the National League, he played for two Major League teams, Chicago's Cubs and Cincinnati. He coached for two seasons with Pittsburgh as well. Following his years in professional baseball, he became the head coach at Hillsdale College in Michigan in 1994. In 2010, he coached his 300th win at the private school." Plaque is wood with an acrylic label attached to front with four screws, one in each corner. Wood has a hole in center top, as well as two grooves on back (one on the left and one on top below the hole), for mounting. |
