Wood and acrylic plaque commemorating Joe Greenbach of Sequoia High School who was inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 9, 1999. Plaque includes image of Greenbach and a brief biography: "Joe Greenbach became a big-time basketball star too soon. If he had come into his prime 20 years later, the NBA would have been a real option. The Sequoia High School, Menlo College and Santa Clara University great was drafted by the then Washington Capitals of the NBA in 1950. But the salary was minimal. The smooth-shooting guard/forward was named to Santa Clara's all-time basketball team in 1960. He also was a member of a powerful AAU championship club, Stewart Chevrolet." |
