Wood and acrylic plaque commemorating Tony Giammona of Westmoor High School who was inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 9, 1999. Plaque includes image of Giammona and a brief biography: "Tony Giammona is synonymous with Daly City. He was a boys' basketball coach at Westmoor High School in that town for 26 years. He also served on the Daly City Council for 29 years. He was elected to seven terms on that body. He was mayor of Daly City for several years. His Westmoor varsity basketball teams posted a 217-45 North Peninsula League record, with 10 titles. At one point in the 1970's, his Rams won 49 consecutive NPL games. He was an outstanding three-sport high school athlete in Michigan." |
