Pacific Portland Cement Plant, c. 1940s. Framed watercolor paintng on paper of Pacific-Portland Cement Plant in Redwood City. View is from the Leslie Salt dock with a section of its building depicted in the right foreground. Left portion of image depicts the San Francisco Bay two Portland Cement smoke stacks spewing smoke. There are several buildings in the center and a large white silo on the right in front of several small white hills of salt(?). Artist's signature in bottom right corner reads, "DD L/1 AB." Watercolor is mounted within a 3.5" cream-colored mat inside a painted wood frame with mulit-beveled outside edge. |

Provenance |
One of two paintings commissioned by the cement company for display in their offices. The company later became an Ideal Basic Industries cement plant where donor's father worked. When the plant closed in 1971, the painting was given to donor's father. |
