Wood and acrylic plaque commemorating Anne Warner Cribbs of Menlo-Atherton High School who was inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 7, 2000. Plaque includes image of Warner Cribbs and a brief biography: "Anne Warner Cribbs, a Burlingame native, was one of the nation's top swimmers at Menlo-Atherton High School as a teenager. She was a member of the 1960 U.S. Olympic 400-meter medley relay team that won a gold medal. After a career in municipal government, she became one of the co-founders of the women's professional American Basketball League. Chair of the San Jose Sports Authority, she also has taken on the challenge of bringing the 2012 Olympic Games to the Bay Area." |
