Description |
Wood and acrylic plaque commemorating John Radetich of San Carlos High School who was inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 23, 2005. Plaque includes image of Radetich and a brief biography: "For a time in the late 1960's and early 1970's, John Radetich was a member of a very select club. He was a high-jumper with world-class talent. He soared over seven feet on countless occasions. At San Carlos High School, he was one of the very best in California in his specialty as a teen. Later, at Oregon State University, it was more of the same. He was a Pacific-8 champion. On the professional track and field tour, he set an indoor record of seven feet, six inches in Salt Lake City in 1976. His son, Scott, also high-jumped more than seven feet as a collegian at Linfield College." |
