Plaque commemorating Jim Kauffman of Capuchino High School being inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 10, 2003. Plaque includes image of Kauffman and a brief biography: "Jim Kauffman was a natural. At an early age, it was obvious that he was something special. At Capuchino High School in the mid-1960s, starred in three sports: football, basketball and track and field. Gordy Young, who spent 28 years at Capuchino as a coach, teacher and administrator, says Kauffman was the finest athlete he saw at the San Bruno school. At Stanford, Kauffman's football team won the Rose Bowl in 1970. After graduation, he played rugby in Australia." |
