Wood and acrylic plaque commemorating Bill Gray of Oceana High School and Terra Nova High School who was inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame on June 19, 2008. Plaque includes image of Gray and a brief biography: "It would not be a hyperbole to state that Bill Gray has become a Pacifica sports institution. No wonder. He has been coaching in the town for 35 years. His wrestling and football teams at Oceana captured a total of six Central Coast Section championships. Several of his wrestling teams were among the finest in the state. At the peak of its popularity, one-third of Oceana's male students tried out for the wrestling program. Gray's football squads at Terra Nova are annually among the best in CCS." |
