Description |
Ceramic foot warmer is made of clay and constructed by hand. It is composed of a hollow cylinder with a flat bottom, a spout at the top center and two hand formed and pressed handles on either side of the spout. The spout has a wide lip and stopper is not present. Original gray-colored clay is visible on ends but rest of warmer has a golden-brown glaze. This foot warmer would have been filled with hot water and placed at one's feet when riding in a carriage in the the mid to late 1800s. |
