MotoMeter Radiator Cap, August 13, 1918. Cylindrical screw cap with protruding tube thermometer that extends length of radiator cap. Top of screw cap is scalloped. Top of cap has raised metal ring that attaches circular glass-front gauge. Edges of gauge are framed in painted black metal. Another steel metal frame with engraved text, secured with four screws, holds glass front and back. Beneath glass is gauge told you temperature of water in radiator. Radiator cap used on a Ford Model T. |

Milt used it on his Model Ts. Milt got his first Model T at age 13 and drove first Model T at age 9. Bought and restored Model Ts for $5 and would sell for $10 (c. 1926). |

"The Motometer Company, Inc. was located at Broadway at 58th St. in New York City, in 1912 (see advertisement above), which may have been the sales office and showroom. The patent drawings were not readily available, but the earlier unit is marked that the firm received the patent on the device, on May 13, 1913, and had also had trade marked it as the Boyce Moto Meter. At a later date the company moved to Long Island City, N.Y...."
