Description |
Corn Seeder, 1893. Wooden corn seeder has a red painted finish. The base of the vertical wooden piece is hinged with a spring to another wooden piece. A disk inside the bottom of the cylinder spins revealing holes beneath that allow seeds to pass through when compressed. The canister is attached to the small wooden piece by a rod. Similar rods attach to a kick plate that are affixed to the small wooden piece on the other side. At the top of the large wooden piece a bulbous handle with an unfinished wooden grip and a metal interior extends perpendicularly out the back. Beneath the cylinder is another metal piece with an opening through which seeds are dropped. Front of large wood piece is stenciled with "THE AMERICAN / STANDARD." in black paint. |
