Description |
Gas Mask Canvas Case, c. 1939-1945. Cylindrical canvas bag with stamp printed text on front to hold gas mask. Canvas bag widens at top with canvas flap and metal button closure. Canvas strap sewn to either side to attach. Metal buckles on canvas strap for adjusting length. Canvas cord sewn into side of canvas bag and attached on the other side to a rectangular metal ring. Cord has a metal aglet at the end. Cord is knotted to adjust size/length. All pieces tan in color. |

This version of the Training mask used a new face piece mold which included "rifle skids", a feature designed to prevent the wearer's rifle from getting caught on the lower head harness rivets when aiming from the shoulder position..."
